Dave and I woke up very early and were super excited to finally get Sophia's sleep test. It took us over an hour to drive to the medical center where the doctor was located. It was such a great experience. Sophia was super cute and in a great mood. The doctor was so nice. Apparently the test showed that her tonsils and adnoids are huge and make it hard for her to sleep. She snores and sometimes gasps for air. She stops breathing durring sleep about five times per hour. The doctor said her brain waves/oxygen were fine during those times. He reccomended surgury (which we are doing). Before we discussed what the surgury would look like, they had an Audiologist give her a hearing test. She had some fluid in her ears, but she passed the test. She could hear most of the sounds. He was trying to see if he would put tubes in her ears at the same time (which he is not going to do). We will have her hearing chekced again in about 6 months. The surgury is scheduled for early August. Sophia has to spend the night (this surgury is usually outpatient) because she is higher risk (under 3, small). She will have a two week recovery where she has to take it easy. No playing, only soft foods. He said he could not promise her weight would change, but it could. She will definitely have a better sleeping experience.
