We are on summer vacation!!! Day 1 started out great. We headed out around 6 am and drove to Roswell, New Mexico. We made excellent timing. We laughed about funny towns we passed through (Welfare, Texas, Comfort, Texas). The girls were AWESOME in the car. I spent a lot of time doing school work. We arrived at our Hampton Inn and relaxed until Christa, Brad, and their 4 kids arrived. We then walked next door to enjoy dinner at the resturant called Tia Juanas. The food was ok...nothing to write home about, but we had a great time. Roswell is known for aliens, so the kids had a good time. We woke up the next morning and started getting ready to head down to the free continental breakfast. Sophia threw a fit in the middle of the hall and a man opened his door and gave me a dirty look. A little while later when this same man came down to breakfast, I ran out because I was mortified.
We then headed to the UFO McDonalds to kill time before the UFO Museum opened. After going through the muesuem, I can honestly say I was more confused than before. I just don't know what to believe. We then drove a beautiful drive to Santa Fe to check into our hotel (Santa Fe Hotel and Spa). We bid on hotwire and got a great deal for the rooms. I thought for sure this was the same hotel we stayed in 2 years ago, but no, it was not in the very center of the Santa Fe Plaza. Good thing they offered a shuttle, but we could walk to the center of town because it was only 7 blocks away.
