Mom and dad moved to Tyler, Texas for dad's new job. They are renting a cool townhouse on the golf course. They didn't have a lot of furniture because they are buying everything new and waiting for it to come in. They are leaving everything in Breaux Bridge so they can go stay on a regular basis. We (Dave, the girls, I, Christa, Brad, Paige, Will, April and Olivia) all showed up Friday evening. Mom made fried shrimp for lent. We had such a nice weekend.
Friday: just visited, the kids played, drank some wine.
Saturday: my dad's company, Brookshire opened a new concept store called Fresh. It is like Central Market (but better) and sells regular stuff like Coke and name brands. The concept is cool...you can order wine and beer and shop. They will have bands on the weekend. We were very impressed, especially for a town that is dry...yes, that is correct...you can't buy beer, wine, or alcohol anywhere in the city limits unless it is at a restaurant...We were impressed that Tyler was larger than we expected. Christa and I both had shopping rage incidents where people skipped us in line at different stores...I got mad but stayed calm, Christa said something...that night we found a cool place to eat called Coyote Sam's...food was good...outdoor seating by the fire pit was even better.
Sunday: We drove home...took a different route going home...it took us 4 1/2 hours...will do the original route that took us 3 1/2 hours...the only bad thing about the drive is you are taking mostly highways where the speed limit was constantly changing...
Overall we had a GREAT weekend...so much fun...love, love, love spending time with my family!
