All I want is a relaxing Saturday....

Those were the words out of Dave's mouth...poor thing...that is not what he got:)

Friday after work I stopped by the grocery store to pick up stuff to cook for dinner.  Tara was coming to spend the night because her husband and son were hunting and her daugther was at a sleep over.  Ashlee and Danny came over as well.  Christa gave me a recipe for stuffed chicken.  It turned out pretty good, but I cooked it too long...I will make it again and try not to mess it up...it is actually a great recipe...saute mushrooms in garlic, olive oil, and then add fresh spinach...stuff chicken breast with the mixture, cover with a piece of cheese (I used jalapeno jack) and then bake for about an hour...We had a great time just relaxing and joking around.

Saturday morning I dropped Molly off at Pet Smart to be groomed...poor thing hasn't been groomed since August.  We have had a couple of instances recently where Sophia pooped on her little potty and Molly got to it before we did...which is pretty gross, but apparently normal for dogs...so Dave was happy that we were getting her shampooed and cut, but also her teeth brushed and nails groomed.

My co-worker's daughter works at the Museum of Heath and Science in the museum district down town.  She told me about an event they had Saturday morning where kids could bring their teddy bears to be checked out.  We took the girls and they had a blast.  It was so cute.  They checked the bears in, asked their names and age and put on a paper wrist band.  The girls then took their bears to different stations where they were checked out and learned about different topics (safety, brushing teeth, food nutrition, health)...It was really cute.  They got a check mark at each station and at the end could show a person in the gift shop to receive a free little bear.  Too cute...We will definitely do this again.

We then had lunch and on our way home back to Katy stopped at the Fredlyn Nut Company on the Southwest Freeway.  Dave has wanted to go to this little nut shop since we were dating.  We went and were really surprised at the stuff they had.  They mainly do wholesale, but do have a small retail shop.  I picked up some candy for Sophia's candy land party and Dave bought some chocolate covered coffee beans.  It is a great place for gifts for the holidays.

We picked up Molly (who looked like a different dog!) and then headed home for a few minutes to relax.  The girls got into the stamp pad and turned their hands hot pink.  We then headed out again to go order carpet at Home Depot.  I am super excited to be getting new carpet!!!! We went with a very smart choice (it is like shag...they call it twist)..it is a brownish color...will be very forgiving with spills, kids, and a dog.  We should have it installed by the end of the month.  We have to have them come out and measure, and then they have to order it, etc...

After Home Depot Dave wanted to try the new Fusion New House on Cinco Ranch Blvd by our house.  They weren't open so we decided to try another new restaurant by our house....Italian restaurant called Isabella Mia.  (It used to be Pizza Deaux, but that did not make it). We were pleasantly surprised how much we liked it.  The brick oven pizza was New York Style...really good...plus Dave and I shared a nice bottle of wine that was only 20.00.  We will definitely go back (and they deliver).

We came home, exhausted and Dave watched the Longhorns lose to Kansas State.  I went to bed early because I was tired.  Life is good!!!!
