Nice surprises

My post today is about nice surprises. I decided to take Isabella and Sophia to see a movie that just came out that I had never heard about. The movie was called Mr. Peabody and Sherman. I decided to drop Finley off at daycare for a few hours since we were paying anyway:)

Well, the movie was so cute!!! I was pleasantly surprised! The plot was good and had lots of adult humor. There were lots of historical references (French Revolution, Trojan War, Ancient Egypt, George Washington).  The teacher in me could not help think that this will be great for history teachers to show students (clips).  They showed Da Vinci's inventions, the Mona Lisa, Marie Antoinette "let them eat cake". It was about a smart dog that adopted a boy. It was a clever movie.

After the movie, I headed to the gym for a quick workout. It felt great! I was enthralled watching the update on Flight 370...more weird information emerging. It appears to have turned around and flown for about an hour in the wrong direction. Prayers for these people and families.

We picked up Finley and headed home to the surprising beautiful weather!!! There is another cold front emerging in the morning, so we will enjoy it while it lasts:)

(This picture above is from the other night)

Finally, I know I am always looking for good books to read. My husband is obsessed with audible (and I like it a lot)...I won't mention that we have a small fortune invested in books:) I guess invested is not the best word.  I decided to look through some of my reads and post a list of books I enjoyed. I REALLY liked Gone Girl, The Husband's Secret, and Kristin Hanna books. The others books are good as well. There are a couple of Holocaust books, but they were good...sad, but good...

These are not in any particular order...

The Rosie Project
What Alice Forgot
The Husband's Secret
Gone Girl
Sisterland
Fly Away
The Fault in our Stars
Confessions of a Sociopath
Between Sisters
The things we do for love
Home Front
Spousonomics
The Tipping Point
Can you keep a secret?
I've got your number
Defending Jacob
The next best thing
Summerland
Tara Road

My question for anyone reading my blog, what are books that you would recommend?

I recently read "The Hunt for Red October". It's the first Clancy book I've read. Really good.
